DESCRIPTION:

ACEDINE contains an antiviral agent (Amantadine) that specifically inhibits influenza A virus replication at a micromolar concentration. ACEDINE is a synthetic anti-viral drug that can inhibit the replication of viruses in cells interfering with a viral protein, M2 (an ion channel), which is needed for the viral particle to become “uncoated” and  prevents endosomal escape (i.e. the release of viral genetic material into the host cytoplasm).

INDICATIONS:

ACEDINE use to prevent a viral infection, the drug should be present in the system/ body before to virus exposure. It was initially used to prevent Influenza A type virus during flu season, and, if given within 24 to 48 hours on the onset of flu symptoms, to decrease the severity of the viral effects.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:

ACEDINE is contraindicated in those poultry birds which are hypersensitive to the amantadine or its components of the formulation. The drug undergoes renal excretion, in those birds which are with renal disease (sever nephritis) is contraindicated.

INCOMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DRUGS:

Do not administer it together with other antiviral agents.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Preventive course: 1 gm into 8 liters of drinking water for 03 to 05 days.
During complications (treatment): 1 gm into 4 liters of drinking water for 03 to 05 days.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:

10 days after the last admiration
